How to add rates to a property

Modified on Tue, 29 Sep, 2020 at 3:56 PM

Introduction

iPro has the feature to configure rates for each season and for each property. The options available when configuring rates would depend on how you've set up your Global Rate Options. If you haven't done this, go to How to setup your global rate options.

There are 2 ways to add rates to a property:

1/ Through the CMS, under the property's Rates & Notes tab:

2/ Or through the back-office by clicking the View/Edit Rates button. You can find this in several places in the back-office such as Property List, Property Calendar, Channel Manager, etc

For the purpose of this guide, we will focus on adding rates through the CMS.

How to add rates to a property

1/ Go to the property in the CMS and click on the 'Rates & Notes' tab. Scroll down until you get to the Rates section and click on the '+Add New Rate' button:

2/ The Add Rate window will pop-up. Put in the Name of the season, define the Date Range this rate will apply to and specify the Minimum Stay and Changeover Days rule to be followed:

3/ If you'd like to automate the rules for short breaks & flexible arrivals, tick the box below and fill-out the fields.

In the above example, the season rules will be updated to a minimum stay of 2 nights and flexible changeover days when we are within 7 days of the season start date. So if the season starts on Oct 7th, the rules will automatically change by Sep 30th. This will allow you to try and fill in that last-minute availability.

It is recommended to utilise this feature when you are using weekly seasons, as if the season is 4 weeks long, you will have opened up short breaks for the whole 4 weeks

4/ As mentioned, the rate options available will depend on your Global Rate Rules. In the example below, I've defined a Weekly Price and also configured Nightly LOS Pricing by Group Size

Take note that the rates for 1-6 nights above will be the nightly rate used for that particular length of stay. For example, a 5-night booking will cost £115/night x 5 = £575.

5/ Once done, click the 'Add Rate' button below:

6/ Your new rate season will now be displayed on the list. Here you can also Edit or Delete a rate season by clicking the corresponding button:

By implementing what you have learned from this guide you will be able to answer the following questions:

  • How to add rates to a property?
  • How to edit/delete rates?
  • How to Automate Your Rules For Short Breaks & Flexible Arrivals?
